Your journey to the Ruby Valley begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to the small mountain town of Syabrubesi, the gateway to the Langtang region. The road follows the beautiful Trishuli River valley, passing through traditional villages, terraced farmlands, and lush green hills.
Along the way, you will drive through towns such as Trishuli Bazaar, Ramche Gaon, and Dhunche, offering your first glimpses of rural Himalayan life. The road becomes narrower and more rugged as you approach the mountains, but the dramatic scenery makes the journey rewarding.

Today marks the beginning of your trek into the culturally rich Ruby Valley region. Leaving Syabrubesi, the trail climbs steadily through terraced farmland and forested hills toward Bahun Danda, offering beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
Continuing along a winding mountain trail, you reach Chawatar, where you stop for lunch. This area is known for its fresh, locally grown vegetables and traditional home-cooked meals prepared by villagers.
After lunch, the trail gradually ascends to the picturesque Tamang village of Gatlang, one of the largest and most culturally vibrant settlements in the region. The village features traditional stone houses, Buddhist prayer flags, and stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

After breakfast in Gatlang, the trail climbs gently through alpine forests toward Parvati Kund, a beautiful high-altitude freshwater lake considered sacred by the local communities. The lake is named after the Hindu goddess Parvati, and many pilgrims visit this site during religious festivals.
From the lake, the trail continues through dense rhododendron and pine forests, gradually reaching the peaceful pastureland of Yuri Kharka, where you will stop for lunch.
After lunch, the trek continues toward Somdang Valley via Khurphu Bhanjyang. Along the route, you may see remnants of an old mining site that once produced minerals such as zinc, copper, tin, and crystals, including rubies that gave the region its name.

The trail climbs gradually from Somdang toward Pangsang Kharka, a wide alpine meadow located near the pass. From here, trekkers are rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Ganesh Himal Range, Manaslu, Langtang, and distant Himalayan peaks.
After enjoying the stunning mountain scenery, the trail descends through fir and rhododendron forests toward the village of Tipling. Along the way, you pass through small settlements such as Laptung, where traditional Tamang culture is still deeply preserved.
