Your adventure begins with a scenic drive to Pokhara, Nepal’s beloved lakeside city, followed by a journey toward the charming hill village of Dhampus. The trailhead at Deurali opens the gateway to a world of natural beauty — dense rhododendron forests, peaceful villages, and vibrant flora that set the tone for the trek.

As you ascend, you will experience the serene charm of Forest Camp, where the jungle canopy slowly gives way to open ridgelines. From here, the trail begins to reveal its magic with increasingly unobstructed views of the Annapurna range.

 

The highlight of the trek is the ascent to High Camp and the push toward Mardi Himal Base Camp. This magnificent ridgeline walk delivers some of the most panoramic mountain vistas in Nepal, offering a rare close-up look at the sacred Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) and the sprawling Annapurna massif.

Your descent follows a fresh, scenic route via Jhinu Danda, where a soothing soak in the natural hot springs provides the perfect end to your adventure.

DAY 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (820m / 2,690ft) Itinerary

Distance: 200 km / 124 miles

Driving Duration: 6–7 hours

After an early breakfast, we board a comfortable tourist bus and begin our scenic drive to Pokhara. The journey winds along the picturesque Trishuli and Marsyangdi Rivers, offering beautiful glimpses of rushing white water, terraced hillsides, and rural landscapes.

Upon arrival, Pokhara welcomes you with its serene Phewa Lake and sweeping Himalayan panorama — including Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, and Lamjung Himal. Known as Nepal’s adventure capital, Pokhara blends natural beauty with modern comforts, making it a perfect pre-trek destination.

DAY 2: Drive from Pokhara to Dhampus (1,640m / 5,380ft) & Trek to Deurali (2,100m / 6,889ft) Itinerary

We begin with a scenic two-hour drive to Dhampus — the starting point of our trek. The trail gently ascends through charming Brahmin, Magar, and Gurung villages, surrounded by panoramic views of the Annapurna range. Passing through lush rhododendron forests, we continue to Pothana and finally to Deurali.

Here, stunning vistas open toward the high glaciers of Annapurna South, rising dramatically in the distance.

DAY 3: Trek from Deurali (2,100m) to Forest Camp (2,600m / 8,530ft) Itinerary

Trek Distance: 6 km / 3.7 miles

Highest Altitude: 2,600m / 8,530 ft

Trek Duration: 5–6 hours

Today’s trail leads steadily upward through a dense forest filled with rhododendron, birch, oak, maple, and hemlock trees. This pristine environment is known for wildlife sightings — including monkeys, deer, colorful birds, and rare glimpses of wild cats.

We reach the peaceful surroundings of Forest Camp by late afternoon.

DAY 4: Trek from Forest Camp (2,600m) to High Camp (3,600m / 11,811ft) Itinerary

Trek Distance: 8.5 km / 5.2 miles

Trek Duration: 4–5 hours

We gradually ascend through Low Camp and continue along an increasingly open trail, where the forest thins and breathtaking views emerge. Today is one of the most rewarding days, offering dramatic panoramas of Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain), the Annapurna Range, the Annapurna Base Camp valley, and the Mardi Himal ridge.

The trail turns into a spectacular ridgeline walk, with deep valleys plunging on both sides. To your left lies the Modi Khola Valley leading toward the Annapurna Sanctuary, while on your right stretch the Mardi Khola and Seti River Valleys. On clear days, you may even see the sprawling Pokhara Valley far in the distance.

We end the day at High Camp, perched on a narrow ridge with jaw-dropping views.

DAY 5: Trek from High Camp to Mardi Himal Base Camp (4,500m) & Descend to Low Camp (3,050m) Itinerary

Trek Distance: 10 km / 6.2 miles

Trek Duration: ~7 hours

We rise early to witness a spectacular Himalayan sunrise from High Camp — one of the most unforgettable moments of the trek.

Following a narrow ridgeline, we make our way to Mardi Himal Base Camp. From here, the full face of Annapurna South glows in the morning light, while the sacred, towering Fishtail Mountain stands impressively overhead. After soaking in the views, we return to High Camp for lunch, then continue descending to Low Camp for the night.

DAY 6: Trek from Low Camp (3,050m) to Jhinu Danda (1,780m / 5,839ft) Itinerary

Trek Distance: 12 km / 7.4 miles

Highest Altitude: 3,050m / 10,006 ft

Trek Duration: ~7 hours

The trail drops steeply through dense forest before opening into a broad clearing — an ideal rest stop. We continue down to Siding Village, perched above the river valley, and make our way toward Landruk, a beautiful Gurung settlement.

Depending on timing and comfort, we either stay in Landruk or continue directly to Jhinu Danda, home to Nepal’s famous natural hot springs — the perfect remedy for tired trekking muscles.

DAY 7: Trek from Jhinu Danda/Landruk to Siwa or Ghandruk Phedi & Drive to Pokhara Itinerary

Trek Distance: 4 km / 2.4 miles

Driving Duration: 2–3 hours

On our final trekking day, we follow a pleasant trail along the Modi River, descending gently toward Siwa/Ghandruk Phedi. Here, we say farewell to the mountain trails and begin our drive through tranquil countryside back to Pokhara.

This relaxing ride offers the perfect end to a rewarding Himalayan adventure.
